Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has warned officers and men against being used to intimidate or harass innocent citizens in the state or anywhere in Nigeria.
According to a statement by the police spokesman in the state, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, Odumosu gave the stern warning on Tuesday , November 30, 2021, while addressing patrol and guard officers at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
Admonishing officers to take their personal safety as a priority and be security conscious at all times, the police Commissioner also warned police officers attached to companies, organisations, agencies, or those serving as escorts to Very Important Personalities (VIPs) against performing illegal duties or travelling outside the state without official permission.
“The police boss further warned officers and men to stop acts that would demean them and capable of dragging the name of the Nigeria Police Force into disrepute,” CSP Ajisebutu said in the statement.
