Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Chairman and members for the Oyo State Local Government Commission as well as additional members for the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing).
The governor’s Special Adviser (Media), Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, made this known in a statement.
It will be recalled that the Governor Makinde had earlier appointed Alhaji Hashim Atere and Alhaji Abdulrasheed Olokuta as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) respectively.
According to a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi, those appointed into the Local Government Commission are Hon. Akinwale Akinwole, Chairman; Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi, full time member; Alhaji Oke Taiwo, full time member; Mr. John Abisoye Adisa-Oke, part time member; and Mrs Nike Arewa, – part time member.
The appointment will take effect after the confirmation by the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The new members of Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) are Abdu Rahman Agbotomokekere, Amusat Ayyub Agboola, Dawud Afolabi, Latifat Dairo and Mallam Abdusallam Abdullateef.
The appointments are with immediate effect.
Congratulating the new appointees, Governor Makinde counseled them to see their appointment as a call to service.
