The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has commiserated with the President, Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, on the demise of his mother, Mrs Elizabeth Areola Oke.
The matriarch died at the age of 97.
Speaking during home visit to the Bishop, who is also the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN), Governor Makinde expressed his condolences to the Bishop and the entire Oke family.
According to a statement by the Media Bureau of theSword of the Spirit Ministries, the governor thanked God that Mama lived a good and fulfilled life worthy of emulation before returning to her maker.
He described the deceased as a blessed woman whose womb was privileged to birth great children whose lives have impacted humanity positively, both within Nigeria and around the globe.
He enjoined the Bishop and the rest of the family to take heart and give thanks to God for making Mama live to a ripe old age of 97.
The governor seized the opportunity to assure the Bishop and the generality of the Oyo State populace of his steadfast commitment to the welfare and development of the people of the State.
He said that he and his team had been working tirelessly to put in place a formidable foundation upon which Oyo State is gradually being built to become an economically developed and viable state in the nearest future.
In his response, Bishop Oke, on behalf of the family, thanked the governor for the honour of taking time out of his busy schedule to condole him and his family on the loss of the matriarch of the Oke family.
He assured Governor Makinde of continuous support and fervent prayer to God for his success and for the emergence of a credible and God- fearing successor, who will further take the state to greater heights.
