The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin I, has felicitated the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, on his 80th birthday.
A statement from the palace on Tuesday, September 24, according to the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Mr Solomon Olugbenga Ayoade, congratulated the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
It stated Olubadan’s joy in celebrating Oba Ladoja and his achievements in his eight decades on earth, noting his contributions to Ibadanland, Oyo State and the Nigerian nation.
Oba Olakulehin expressed his unalloyed gratitude to God Almighty for sparing the life of Oba Ladoja to witness his 80th birthday celebration.
In the paramount ruler’s words: “On this landmark occasion and joyous celebration of 80 years on earth, I recognise, celebrate and salute your service to Ibadanland and indeed Oyo State on behalf of the Olubadan- in-Council, the good people and residents of Ibadan land.
“You are a worthy son and ambassador of Ibadanland, and we are proud of you and your noble achievements in your eight decades on earth”
“My prayer is that the Almighty will give you many more years in good health and wealth to continue in service to humanity.”
The monarch further appreciated Oba Ladoja’s love for peace and unity in Ibadan land and his commitment to the promotion and preservation of Ibadan cultural heritage.
He used the occasion to admonish traditional title holders, indigenes as well as residents of the ancient city to ensure the maintenance of peaceful co-existence for the development of Ibadan in all sectors and areas of human endeavour.
