•Raid Narcotic Storehouses, Recover Drugs
A lady, Aisha Hassan, who allegedly put a motorcycle rider to sleep with drugs and stole his bike, has been arrested by operatives in Delta State Police Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Bright Edafe, had said in a statement that the Area Commander, Asaba, received the information about the incident on February 23 at about 2:40pm.
The okada rider (name withheld) had reportedly picked the suspect and one other ,who pretended to be passengers, to Kenu Guest House.
“On getting to the hotel, the victim stated that the lady brought out a drink for them, unknown to him that sleeping pills and suspected hard drug had been added to the it.
“After drinking, he slept off, and to his greatest surprise, he woke up to discover that his red colour unregistered KC Sanya motorcycle with engine number 162FMJ510828953 and chasis number IPCKL11M1018611 valued at N330,000 had been stolen by the suspects,” Edafe disclosed.
The PPRO said the report made the Area Commander, Asaba, ACP Nuhu Hamidu, to detail police detectives to investigate and ensure that the said suspects were arrested.
“Consequently, the team went on an intelligence-led investigation and arrested one of the suspects named Aisha Hassan.
“Investigation later revealed that her gang member took the motorcycle to an unknown destination. The Investigation is ongoing with a view of possibly recovering the said motorcycle and arresting the fleeing suspect,” Edafe added.
He said that the police commissioner, Ari Mohammed Ali, had urged members of the public to help with any useful information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the motorcycle.
In another crime-busting development, the command’s crack squad raided a criminal hideout of drug dealers at Atata quarters, Ogbomro Community in Uwvie Local Government Area on March 9 at about 6:35pm with the arrest of one Solomon Okodaso, suspected to be a drug dealer, and the Ogbomro Community Chairman.

Prior to the raid, Thenewsbearer learnt that the Command had been receiving reports on some drug cartels in the state, as well as the high rate at which the youths were abusing drugs.
The Commissioner of Police, while acting on the intelligence, had directed all tactical teams, Divisional Police Officers and area commanders to embark on intelligence-led raiding to curb the menace, identify all illicit drugs hideouts, arrest suspects and ensure that those found wanting were prosecuted accordingly.

Exhibits recovered included 12 bottles of codeine, 14 sachets of tramadol, one and half compressed sacks of Loud, 73 wraps of weeds suspected to be Skunk, 65 tablets of happy mood drugs, one pack of Colorado, one pack of Arizona, nine packets of rizla and a cash of N192,000.
Others were a Samsung handset, an infinix handset, an ash colour Mercedes Benz c350 with registration number KUJ 664 BH and a white colour Lexus 330 vehicle with registration number EFR 303 DC.
The PPRO said that investigations were still ongoing on the cases.
