OPERATIVES of the Zamfara State police command have arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of three Fulani at Bargaja village in Gusau Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ayuba Elkanah, while parading the suspects on Tuesday, said they are members of the outlawed group, Yansakai.
He said on November 29, the Command received a distress call that, members of the outlawed group known as ‘Yansakai’ carrying dangerous weapons had invaded a Fulani settlement called Bargaja in Gusau LGA with intent to attack and kill inhabitants of the village.
“Police Tactical teams were proactively deployed to the village to repel the hoodlums from carrying out their nefarious activities against the community.
“The operatives succeeded in containing the situation as well as arresting the suspects, for gruesomely killing three people in the village using cutlass and knives.
“The suspects were arrested with locally-fabricated guns and cutlasses with blood stains. The case is under investigation.”
