A 64-year-old man, Ayotunde Taiwo, has been arrested by policemen in Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a two-year-old girl (name withheld).
The crime was committed on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, according to the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
The PPRO said that the victim’s mother had reported to the police at Agbado divisional headquarters that at about 11am of same day, she noticed that her daughter could not walk well, and when she inspected her body, she saw blood gushing out of her private part.
The mother spoke further that when she asked her daughter about what happened to her, the little girl pointed to the house opposite their own house. On getting to the house, the suspect was said to have been met washing his blood-stained boxers, an act which showed that he just had unlawful carnal knowledge of the toddler.
The Divisional Police Officer of Agbado police station, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, had reportedly sent his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
Oyeyemi said that the victim had been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
In his reaction, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Family Support Unit at Ota Area Command for further investigation and prosecution.
