Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has vowed to take anti-crime to the hideouts of hoodlums in Lekki and Ajah areas of the state.
This was just as three suspected cultists were arrested at Imalete Alafia, Ibeju Lekki area.
The suspects, identified as Joshua Ubokuho, Emmanuel Yusuf and Adewale Hammed, were caught with weapons and charms.
In a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Odumosu was said to have made the vow on Saturday, March 6, 2021, during a meeting with stakeholders at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
The Commissioner of Police laid emphasis on identifying and raiding the dens of criminals who had been terrorising residents of Lekki, Ajah, Badore, Sangotedo, Elemoro, Ibeju-Lekki and Akodo, among others.
Addressing security issues in the state, particularly in Eti Osa Local Government Area, the state police boss spoke on the arrest of the suspected cultists by police operatives attached to Elemoro Division on the day of the stakeholders’ meeting.
He disclosed that they were caught with some charms and weapons, including two cutlasses marked ‘Zero 4,’ which was also a mark on each of the suspects.
Odumosu added that the mark on them had been subjected to investigation, in order to get more information on the suspects and their group, while their operational bus was also recovered.
In order to review the anti-crime strategies of the command, Odumosu also scheduled a meeting with the Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers for Tuesday, March 9, at POWA Hall, Oduduwa, Ikeja.
This, he said, was targeted at solidifying the security architecture of the state.
He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, to take over the suspects and ensure their quick trial and the prosecution of other cases under investigation.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to maintain law and order and public safety in the state.
