22-year-old man defiles toddler, says it was to check his retracted manhood’s functionality

An electronic goods apprentice in Ibadan, Oyo State, Rafiu Farouk, has been arrested, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.

It was learnt that on Thursday night of March 28, 2024, Farouk, who lives at Popo Yemoja area of the city, picked the toddler from where she lay beside her sleeping grandmother in the house veranda, took her to a room, removed her underpants,sat her on his private part and worked himself into sexual frenzy.

Smearing her private part with his semen after ejaculation, the suspect reportedly told the girl to return to her grandmother.

Thenewsbearer gathered the act was exposed when the father went to wake his family members up at about 11pm to go inside their apartment.

As he carried the toddler, who is his third and youngest daughter, he felt a sticky wetness around her buttocks. On removing the toddler’s underwear, the father exclaimed as he noticed that it was semen.

He was said to have called his mother’s attention to it. A female neighbour was also called, and she confirmed that the slimy substance was semen.

This led to the arrest of the suspect and other men around the scene of incident for interrogation by the officers of Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), popularly known as Amotekun Corps.

It was during the interrogation that the suspect confessed that he molested the toddler sexually to check if his retracted manhood would function.

Farouk, who said he was living with his parents but used to sleep in the rooms of young men who live in his compound and the neighbourhood, took time before his confession.

However, he eventually owned up to the act, lamenting on his retracted manhood which he said had been non-functional since 10 years ago when he got to the age of puberty.

According to him, “I noticed my manhood’s non-functionality about 10 years ago. I don’t have a girlfriend because of my condition.

“It is true I went to pick the girl when she was beside her sleeping grandmother. I put her on my thighs close to my private and jerked until I ejaculated and poured my semen on her private part.

“While doing it, the girl was crying, so I left her immediately I finished. She returned to her grandmother’s side.”

The suspect stated further that he slept in his friend’s room from where  he was arrested along with the friend on Friday morning.

He confirmed that the toddler pointed at him when asked to identify the person who touched her among the six men arrested.

Thenewsbearer learnt that the grandmother came from Lagos State in August 2023 when her son’s wife died five days after the delivery of the family’s fourth child and only son.

It was said that the elderly woman and her son had been taking care of the four children left by their mother.

The Amotekun Corps has transferred the suspect to Mapo Division of Oyo State Police Command for further investigation.
