The prayers offered by Pastor Godwin Ojerinde to have his attackers exposed have worked, as policemen in Ogun State Command have arrested two armed robbery gang members who robbed him in his home.
The suspects were identified as Oshilaru Biodun and Tolulope Oluwafemi, a female.
The arrest was made known by the police image-maker in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 2.
According to the PPRO, Pastor Ojerinde, of God’s Will Praying Ground, Siun, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area had his residence broken into by the two suspects and three other members, at about 3:15am on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, while armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.
Oyeyemi said that the hoodlums held the pastor and his family hostage, ransacked the house and dispossessed them of a Pathfinder SUV with registration number Ogun WDE 38 MM, a Samsung A20 handset and an Infinix hot note handset.
He added: “On receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Owode-Egba division, CSP Mathew Ediae and his crack detectives embarked on an intensive technical and intelligence-based investigation, in order to unravel those responsible for the heinous crime.
“After weeks of painstaking investigation, Biodun and Tolulope were apprehended based on a tipoff.
“On interrogation, they both confessed to being part of the robbery syndicate, saying that the Pathfinder SUV had been sold to someone in Ogere, a town in the state, and was on its way to the northern part of the country.”
Theimage-maker said that this made the detectives to start tracing the vehicle, until it was recovered in Mokwa, Niger State.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation.
