The Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB), Hon. Adekunle Bankole, has described as misleading and mischievous a viral video alleging the absence of doctors and nurses at Adeoyo Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan.
Bankole, while reacting to the one-minute, 30-second video recorded on September 30, 2026, in a statement, said that the footage was deliberately made to tarnish the efforts of the state government in the health sector and undermine public confidence in government-owned hospitals.
He said the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde had continued to prioritise sustainable, affordable and accessible healthcare delivery for residents of the state.
According to him, the government has also continued to strengthen manpower in its hospitals and health facilities through the recruitment of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to improve access to quality medical services.
“The state government has recently concluded the recruitment of additional health workers across various cadres to strengthen professional manpower and improve service delivery in all government hospitals,” Bankole stated.
The OYSHMB Chairman advised members of the public seeking clarification on hospital management and healthcare services to visit the Board’s headquarters at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He also urged residents to continue patronising government hospitals in their localities, assuring them that qualified health personnel are available to provide healthcare services.
