The Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has redeployed Jimoh Moshood as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command.
The redeployment came from the approval of his appointment as the Lagos Commissioner of Police by the Police Service Commission on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Present at CP Jimoh’s appearance before the Commission were the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd); retired Justice of the Supreme Court and Honourable Commissioner representing the Judiciary, Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje; and the Honourable Commissioner representing the Police, DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd).
Before the appointment and redeployment, CP Jimoh was the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
Jimoh, who hails from Kwara State, was former Force Public Relations Officer and later Deputy Commissioner, Airport Police; Deputy Commissioner, Finance and Administration and Deputy Commissioner General Investigation.
CP Jimoh previously served in key positions including CP Communications Ops, Force Headquarters, Force Public Relations Officer, and CP Eastern Port, Rivers State before now.
He has undergone several professional trainings which include; Combat operations Course, Mobile Training College Maiduguri; African Union Mission in Darfur Sudan; Weapons of mass destruction counter measure first responder Training Institute, United States; training on social construction and management Reform China Executive Leadership Academy, Pudong China; Training on Maritime Rescue and salvage for Developing Countries, China Maritime Academy Ningbo, China and Training on anti hijacking techniques and tactics for developing countries, Yunnan Police College kunmung, China. He was also at the Police Training Institute, Seoul, South Korea.
CP Jimoh is a recipient of the Presidential award for Public Relations Personality of the year in recognition of his sterling qualities and outstanding contribution to the development and use of Public Relations by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
His extensive background in communications, administration and public relations, combined with his operational expertise, uniquely qualifies him to head the Lagos State Police Command.
CP Jimoh’s appointment is expected to strengthen coordination among units, enhance community engagement, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in Lagos State.
The Inspector-General of Police has charged CP Jimoh to uphold the rule of law and maintain operational excellence as he assumes his new role and to lead with unwavering integrity, enforce discipline, and implement proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property.
