The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected murderer, Peter Dike, who allegedly stabbed his wife to death on Wednesday, March 19, for yet-to-be-known reason.
A team of detectives from Morogbo Division made the arrest while on surveillance patrol at Oke Ira, Ilogbo Eremi, after receiving information about the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said that when the detectives immediately raced to the scene, only to see the lifeless body of the 38-year-old wife in a pool of blood in front of the suspect.
A knife stained with blood was recovered from him.
The PPRO said that the corpse was removed and deposited in the mortuary at General Hospital, Badagry, for preservation.
During interrogation at the police station, Dike reportedly confessed to the crime.
CSP Hundeyin said that the case would be taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
