One of the inmates of Kuje Correctional Centre, Abubakar Mohammed Sadiq, who escaped during recent jailbreak, has been arrested by Kano State Police Command.
The command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrest, said that the prison escapee was picked up by a team of Operation Restore Peace attached to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department on September 23, 2022, at about 6pm, based on credible information and sustained intelligence gathering.

The 25-year-old prison escapee is from Badarawa Quarters, Kaduna North Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The PPRO said that the suspect was arrested at Rangaza Quarters, Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano.
“The Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal, directed that the suspected escapee be handed over to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kano State Command.
“The Commissioner of Police appreciates the good people of Kano State for their continuous support, encouragement and cooperation.
“He urged residents to continue to pray for the state and the nation, report incidents to the nearest police station and not take laws into their hands.
“Raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the state as the command will sustain the tempo in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere in Kano State,” SP Kiyawa stated.
