Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested three men for vandalising and stealing transformer cables in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area.
According to a press statement issued by the Office of the State Commander, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, the patrol team led by Chief Superintendent of Corps Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq arrested the suspects on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at about 5:30am.
The suspects were identified as Eze Sunday, Eze John Charles and Jamilu Danjuma.
According to the statement, the suspects, one of whom is an ex-convict, confessed to the crime and disclosed that Danjuma was the receiver of the stolen items.
The suspects and the recovered exhibits, including burnt and separated copper wires, had been transferred to the for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
“This arrest is a testament to the corps’ commitment to tackling vandalism and theft in the state.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Ogun State citizens,” Ganzallo stated.
The So-Safe Corps is a state-owned security outfit established to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in maintaining law and order in Ogun State.
