OPERATIVES of Amotekun Corps in Oyo State, in the afternoon of Friday, July 30, 2021, foiled an operation by some suspected kidnappers at Elewura community, via Iwere-Ile in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, intended to abduct some residents of the area.
Information gathered by Thenewsbearer had it that the kidnappers, who were herdsmen, stormed the community, causing the residents to send distress calls to Amotekun operatives in the area.
A credible source told Thenewsbearer that immediately the Amotekun operatives got to the scene at about 3:30 p.m., they engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, killing two, while the remaining three members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds.
Police operatives, on getting the information, reportedly went to the scene and took away their corpses. Recovered were a pump-action gun, an Italian gun and four handsets, among other items.
