In its move to further detect those remotely involved in the case of of the Fatinoyes’ killing, the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ogun State Police Command on Monday, February 13, 2023, succeeded in arresting two suspects who allegedly bought the car stolen from the deceased by the principal murderers.
The two suspects, identified as Azeez Usman and Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, were arrested at different locations in the state, according to the police spokesman, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi on Tuesday February 14.
One of the principal suspects, Akamo, had confessed that he sold the car to Azeez Usman for N150,000.
The victims, Kehinde Fatinoye and his wife, Bukola, were murdered by the principal suspects in the early hours of January 1, 2023. The suspects thereafter took the couple’s son, Oreoluwa, and their adopted child, Felix Olorunyomi, tied them with rope and put them in the boot of the Hyundai car belonging to the family.
The PPRO said that the suspects drove the two sons to Ogun River bridge at Adigbe area and threw them in it.
“The suspects later parked the car somewhere in Oke Ata area of Abeokuta, but later contacted Owolaja AanuOluwapo who went there and drove the vehicle to Azeez Usman’s workshop where the car was dismantled and sold in parts,” Oyeyemi disclosed.
Police investigation was said to have revealed that the two suspects were duly informed that the car was stolen, but still bought it for N150,000.
The PPRO stated further that the state Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has ordered that all the suspects be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigation.
