You’re a disgrace, PDP Group blasts Fayose for misleading public with N50 billion falsehood

A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, the Oyo PDP-Visionaries, has described former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, as a disgrace to public service for failing to understand the difference between a request and an approval.

The group made this statement on Sunday, December 28, following the former governor’s release of a letter showing the request of N50 billion by the Oyo State Government for the reconstruction of the Dejo Oyelese/Adeyi Avenue area following an explosion.

The Coordinator of the group, Qudus Olayide, berated Fayose for trying to justify his false claim that Makinde got N50 billion from the Federal Government with a letter from the Ministry of Finance showing requests from states.

According to the group, while it was shameful that Fayose told a lie to the public to discredit Makinde, it was quite demeaning and disturbing that he tried to use bold face to make the lie stand by publishing a false record.

The group challenged Fayose to publish the letter showing the actual approval, as it is not all Nigerians that are drop-outs and half literate like him, who cannot distinguish between a letter of request and an actual approval.

The statement read: “Today, we join the rest of the world to stand against half education; it is worse than evil. We have seen its effects on many people in the society, but its manifestation in the life of a former Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has shown how devastating being an ill-literate could be.

“Mr Fayose went on air, prompted by what he could benefit from Nyesom Wike, the drunken emperor of Rivers, to deride Governor Seyi Makinde.

“Like every loquacious person, Fayose pushed himself into error by claiming that Governor Makinde got N50 billion as support for Bodija Explosion. Determined to do worse damage, the shameless man brought an ‘evidence’ to support his claim only that the ‘evidence’ was a letter indicating the request and not the final approval.

“Anyone who has followed Fayose’s trajectory in politics would have seen that he is not someone to be taken seriously; he is more like a court jester than a serious individual. Thus, when he went on air to vituperate against Makinde, we watched, listened and refused to join issues.

“Now that he has published his evidence and the evidence has fallen flat in the face of reason, it becomes imperative to warn him to back off and stop disgracing his family.

“There should be a limit to foolhardy and shamelessness; and Mr Fayose, the half-educated former governor, who cannot read an ordinary letter of request and draw a line between that and an approval, should know the limit before he further brings disgrace to Ekiti State, which he governed for two terms.

“More importantly, this is a warning to the public to instill in their children the value of education, so that they don’t become ill-literate like Fayose, selling their nuisance for dollars.”

The Oyo PDP-Visionaries hailed Makinde as a transparent and people-centred leader, who has always tried to be above board in public service, warning Fayose not to distract the Oyo State governor with his lowlife, chop-chop politics.
