Three weeks after being kidnapped, four female victims breathed an air of freedom as they were rescued from suspected armed bandits by operatives of Zamfara State Police Command on Friday, June 25, 2021.
The female victims were abducted from Bilbis area of Tsafe Local Government Area in the state.
According to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, in a statement on Saturday, June 27, the abduction made the state Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Rabiu, to deploy police tactical operatives attached to “Operation Restore Peace” to the area, with a mandate to rescue the kidnapped women hale and hearty.
Acting in compliance to the directives, the PPRO said that
the operatives worked on credible intelligence that led to the successful rescue of the kidnapped victims.
“All the victims were medically treated at the hospital, and later debriefed by the police before being reunited with their families.
“Effort is being made to arrest the perpetrators of the crime, in order to face the full wrath of the law.
