•Graces closing ceremony of 81 Div Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency competition
Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has reiterated the determination of the police in the command to continue to protect all residents ,including groups, associations, government agencies and public facilities.
This was made known by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement issued on Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Odumosu gave the reassurance when the General Manager, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, Afolabi Solebo paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the command headquarters, Ikeja.
He assured the Agency of his cooperation and support at all times, especially during the exercise of its monitoring and enforcement duties.
Also, the Commissioner of Police promised to work in collaboration with all relevant friendly agencies, individuals and associations whenever the police would be called upon to do so.
He gave the assurance when the Zonal Executive Committee of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Lagos Zone, led by its Zonal Chairman, Comrade Eyam Abeng, presented an award of excellence to him as an appreciation of his selfless service.
The award was also in appreciation of the efforts of the police in maintaining peace, law and order during the Covid-19 lockdown and during the ENDSARS crises in the state.
Two other police officers, Inspector Zanu Jacob and Sgt. Yusuf serving in the Lagos State Police Command were also presented with plaques for their courage and dedication to duty in the face of daunting challenges.
In another development, the Commissioner of Police attended the closing ceremony of the year’s 81 Division inter-brigade combat proficiency competition hosted by 9 Brigade, Ikeja, in the spirit of comradeship and inter-agency collaboration.
According to the command’s police spokesman, the event afforded leadership of the police and the military the opportunity for operational interaction and cross fertilization of ideas in the area of combat training.
The presence of the Commissioner of Police at the yearly event was said to have further reinforced the mutual relationship between the police and the military in the state.
