Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Sylvester Alabi Abiodun, paid a courtesy call on the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos Command on Thursday, March 10, 2022, where he stressed on synergy to be further strengthened by the two services in the state.
Alabi also said that visit was meant to familiarize himself and the members of his management team with the Commandant and his team.
The Commandant, Eweka Douglas Okoro, had received the police commissioner in his office, at the NSCDC headquarters at Alausa, Ikeja, according to the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in the state, ASC Oluwaseun Olumide Abolurin in a statement.
Saying that there was no competition between the police and the civil defence corps, the police commissioner harped on a stronger relationship being built between the two law enforcement agencies in his time to boost the security architecture of the state, in a bid to fight crime and criminality in the society.
Responding, Commandant Okoro
commended the Commissioner of Police on the new impetus and morale he brought into the state to combat crime.
Okoro also praised Alabi for the mannerism adopted for administration and intelligence which he had been using to handle several cases since his assumption of duty in the state.
The NSCDC Commandant promised to work assiduously with him to succeed.
He also seized the opportunity of the visit to commiserate with the Nigeria Police Force on the demise of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike, who was in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) until his death a couple of days ago.
In the entourage of the police commissioner were members of his management team, including DCP Operations, Ahmed Kontagora; DCP Finance and Administration, Bassey Ewah; the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu and others.
NSCDC officers who joined Commandant Okoro in receiving CP Alabi and his entourage included the second-in-command, DCC Obinma Frederick; Head of Operations Department, DCC Jimoh Sulaiman; Head of Intelligence and Investigation Department, DCC Akinremi Ajose; Assistant Commandant of Corps, who is the second-in-command of the Department of Administration, Aiyegbusi Opeyemi Motunrayo; as well as the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, ASC Abolurin.
