The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, has extended his statewide familiarisation tour to the Ota Area Command, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, community partnership and the protection of critical national assets.
During the visit, the police commissioner paid a courtesy call on the Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Abdul Kabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, and other traditional rulers, thanking them for their support in maintaining peace and security.
The monarch commended the operational successes of the Command, particularly Operation Kosaye, describing it as a major boost to security in Ogun State.
At a stakeholders’ meeting attended by local government chairmen, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, CP Ojajuni described Ota as a key industrial and commercial hub requiring sustained collaboration among all stakeholders.
He urged residents to support the police through intelligence sharing and active community participation in crime prevention.
The commissioner also highlighted the achievements of Operation Kosaye, introduced the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) as a preventive strategy against cultism and drug abuse, and unveiled the Gateway Shield digital security platform, encouraging residents to use the mobile application and 24-hour emergency line to report crimes and suspicious activities.
As part of the tour, CP Ojajuni inspected security arrangements at Sona Group of Industries, The Papilon Company Limited, and Geepee Company Limited, where he assessed security infrastructure and encouraged stronger collaboration between the police and the private sector in protecting critical infrastructure and promoting a safe business environment.
He reaffirmed the Ogun State Police Command’s resolve to deepen intelligence-led policing, strengthen inter-agency cooperation and sustain proactive security measures to safeguard lives, property and investments across the state.
