The 32nd Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has assumed duty on his deployment to Adamawa State Command.
CP Dankombo took over from the erstwhile police boss Afolabi Babatola, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and deployed to take charge of Zone 3 headquarters, supervising Adamawa and Taraba States.
According to a statement by the police spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Dankombo hails from Kaltungu Local Government Area of Gombe State. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from University of Maiduguri, Borno State, and Master of Arts in International Relations.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in the year 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through ranks.
Over the last three decades in the Force, CP Dankombo attended several tactical leadership courses both within and outside Nigeria, among which are:
•Combat/Operational course (Mobile training camp, Gwoza)
•Citizenship and Leadership course (Sheri Hills, Jos, Plateau State)
•Advanced Detective Course (ADC PSC, Jos 2001)
•Central Planning and Training Unit (CPTU, PSC JOS 2001)
•Community Policing Development course (Psc, Jos, 2005)
•Crime fighting stimulation training exercises (Armed Forces Stimulation Centre, Jaji (2014)
•Strategic Leadership and Command Course (PSC Jos, 2017)
The new CP is said to be a passionate, versatile and experienced police administrator who has traversed the length and breadth of law enforcement and policing.
He has held several Command positions and carried out multiple tasks in his illustrious career.
He was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration and Operations in Adamawa State before his promotion to Commissioner of Police.
Dankombo is said to possess integrity, courage and experience to oversee the policing affairs in the state.
He is happily married and blessed with children.
