Two suspected armed robbers who dispossessed a rice merchant, Nonso Nwibo, of N120,000 at Ipamesan area of Sango Ota, have been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
The PPRO said that the suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer, Sango Ota Division, CSP Godwin Idehai, that robbers had invaded the shop of the said Nonso and robbed him of the cash, as well as his Techno handset at gun point .

“Upon the distress call, the DPO quickly led his men to the scene, but on sighting the policemen, the robbers took to flight.
“They were hotly pursued, which led to one of them, Sadiiq Hassan, being arrested with a locally-made pistol, while the other suspect escaped.
“Following diligent investigation, the second suspect, Qudus Rasak, was apprehended on Monday, April 19, at a hideout at Owode ijako, and a live cartridge was also recovered from him,” Oyeyemi stated.
He added that the suspects confessed to being the ones who robbed Nonso of his valuables.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for discreet investigation.
